Here are a couple of close up's of Lucas's messy face. Needless to say after eating more sugar in one sitting than he has ever eaten before he was a mess. He was happy as a clam but covered in sugar from head to toe...including his eyebrows. Gotta love that green frosting!

My baby is 1 years old!!
Can you believe it! My baby is ONE!! That's right folks, John and I have survived our first year of parenthood. I know, hard to believe that time goes by that quickly! But we made it this far...only about an eternity more to go :) While we were home in Idaho we had a little joint party
for Lucas and Ethan. It was so much fun watching them eat their cake. Ethan was a bit more conservative. Lucas started of slow but once he got a bite or two there was no stopping him. Please note the freakin' adorable cake that Jilly-bean made for the boys. I am glad she did it because mine would have come in a box from Albertson's!

VACATION!!
So John and I finally took a vacation! After John working 12 hour days for 23 days in a row...we finally jumped on an airplane and flew home to Idaho. We had so much fun. I wish we were able to stay longer than we were. It was Lucas' first airplane ride. We didn't take any pictures on the airplane but this one is really cute from the airport. John bought a smoothie and I think Lucas drank most of it. Since learing how to drink from a straw it seems it is all he wants to do. Silly boy:)
While we were home we took in the festivities of the Cassia County Fair and Rodeo. We, of course, had to hit the parade. Which I must say is the same as it has been for the last 11 years of my life :) I loved every single second of it.
While we were home Lucas and Ethan played. Ethan has a little bubble and Lucas (like his mama) has no bubble. So it took a little while to find an activity that they both enjoyed at the same time. This is what we call "making a mess at Grandma Turners." They found this drawer the John's mom has filled with tupperware lids. They took turns digging through the drawer to find the lids they thought were cool and then they sat on the floor and played with them.
Here are the two cousins again posing for the camera. Lucas is such a cheeseball...I am sure that Ethan was just like, "i don't know him!"

Also while were in town we had the annual Frost family reunion. That is Grandma Lorna's side of the family. They had a little train going while were there so we put Lucas and Ethan on it. Ethan thought it was great. It took a little while for Lucas to warm up to the idea though. Once it got going he had a blast.
These pictures our of our little fish swimming in the pool that grandma bought for him. Well, she bought it for Caleb too but he didn't like the water as much. Lucas had so much fun. We had to take him out because he was turning purple. The little fountain that squirted up he thought was the funniest thing of all time. He just sat in the pool and would run his hands through the water. We had so much fun watching him. We had such a good time in Idaho. We really miss the slower paced lifestyle. No body to flip you off if you aren't in the middle of the intersection when the light turns green, and not a lot of cars on the road to begin with!! Someday we will return to the land of green..but not today :)

11 months and look what I can do!!
So Saturday after the pioneer day celebration I was pretty tired so John offered to clean up the kitchen and watch Lucas for a little while so I could lay down for a minute. Then within a few mintues John comes over and says, "you have to come look at your son." I jump up and run into the kitchen to find this:

So after empting almost the entire contents of the island cabinet he decides he is not finished until he get every last lid out of the cupboard. So he had to climb in to reach the last one. Then, once there he kind of liked it. After playing with the lid inside the cupboard he thought he should pick everything back up and put it away...from inside the cupboard.

Then he got board with that and left a big mess of pots on the kitchen floor! John and I had to have been standing there watching him for like 20 minutes. He'd poke his head out and pull something in with him...then he'd push it back out and grab something else. It was hilarious!

Zion National Park--4th of July
John and I decided that since we couldn't go home for 4th of July we were going to do something fun anyway. We packed up late Thursday night and then first thing Friday morning we jumped in the car and drove to Zion National Park. We had so much fun. We were only able to stay for one night due to church responsibilities but it was worth it. It was like 100 degrees the first night and so we slept Lucas in just his diaper and John and I slept on top of the sleeping bags. The second day was much better as it was only in the upper 80's with occasional cloud cover. We went on several of the hikes. Some great friends of our let us borrow their backback to carry Lucas in. I think John and I are going to invest in one. It worked great and Lucas had a blast. The only downside is that we couldn't take Tibo along because there is only one trail that dogs are allowed on and we didn't think it would be fair to him to leave him at camp, nor did we think it would be fair to the other campers as Tibo tends to bark alot when he sees thing going on.
Here are a couple of pictures from our trip.

Lucas found hiking ver relaxing. This is a picture of him sleeping on our about 1 mile round trip hike. We went on 3 different lenghth hike and about half way through each of them, he fell asleep!

This is our cute family on our hike up to the top of the 3 Emerald Lakes. A great hike. The weather was wonderful. Lucas fell asleep just as we started coming down the mountain.

This is Lucas having his first french fry. We ate Lunch at the Zion Lodge so we didn't have to carry a cooler hiking.

Daddy and Lucas on our last hike of the trip.

Lucas again fell asleep about half way through that final hike!

On our way out of the final hike off to the side of the road was this deer. Just eating away at this little tree. There were two deer but this was the last picture on our memory card. Good thing the trip was over!

5 Years
John and I celebrated our 5 Year Anniversary on May 30th. I just want to take a minute to say how grateful I am to have been married to such a wonderful man for the last 5 years. He is such a great father to our son and a great example to all those around him. I can't believe how fast time flies. John is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Without him I know I would not be as happy as I am now. I love him so much and want him to know that I appreciate all the hard work he does to provide for our family and that I am so proud of him for all that he does.
Summer Time is Here!!
Well now that summer has officially arrived in Las Vegas, I should probably take the time to update everyone on how the Turner clan is doing. When I say summer has arrived, I mean that Summer arrived weeks ago on the first day of 100+ temps. We have been above 100 now for almost 2 weeks, give or take a day. We have been doing lots of things. Here is a little of what we have been doing.

We went out to Lake Mead with some friends of ours who have a jet ski. We had so much fun riding that thing. There were not that many people out on the lake so we had a pretty easy time going where ever on the lake that we wanted to go. Of Course Lucas came too, not on the jet ski though.

While were out there I snapped this picture of John and Lucas. Let's just say this is my new favorite picture of my boys. It shows their matching personalities perfectly!

Our friends, Shawn and Nichole have a little boy, Dillon who is 2 weeks younger than Lucas. Although, from this picture you would think that Dillon was older than Lucas. Lucas is this short little guy next to his buddy. We'll see how long Dillon stays taller than Lucas when they get older.

We also hit the races. Every Saturday night out at the race track they do races. Not big Nascar races, but short track races. We watched this little 12 or 13 years olds race in little cars. They are proably not much more powerful than a go cart but they sure could race those things. Who knows, maybe we watched the next Dale Earnhardt race. It was very loud but Lucas had so much fun. He sat there so intently watching the cars rush by. I think it cost 10 bucks a person to get in and then they had $1 hot dogs and sodas. Lots of fun for really cheap.

John and I had our 5 year anniversary. Yep we have been married for 5 years. So for our anniversary we decided to go to Arizona for a Diamondbacks game. We left Lucas with a friend for the weekend and drove down for the game. We had so much fun. That stadium is one of the most amazing places I have ever been. In about the 3rd Inning it cooled down enough outside so they opened the roof. Right there in the middle of the game the roof started to open. Soooo Cool. We will definately be back for more games and we'll take Lucas next time.

Lucas has grown so many teeth these last few weeks. He is up to 2 molars, 4 top front teeth, and 3 bottom front teeth. So we decided that we should start teaching him how to feed himself things that he won't choke on. This is his first time doing so, it was spagetti. He ate all of the noodles, but I don't think a single drop of sauce made it to his stomach. Needless to say, we put him in the bath immediatly following this yummy dinner.

Updated Pictures
Lucas is standing now. Well, pretty much pulling himself up on anything...the wall, the couch, the baby gate, you name it. Not only that but he is into EVERYTHING. His favorite thing to get into is the cupboards of the entertainment system. He crawls over and pulls open the cupboard and then opens the drawer and empties the contents all over my living room. I then go and pick everything up and then Lucas crawls back over and empties it again. It's a fun game.
Our little family went on a hike a few weeks ago. It was nice outside and since it was stake conference we thought it would be fun to drive up to Mount Charlston and go for a hike. We had so much fun. Tibo loved it. There was still a little bit of snow and it took 15 minutes just to get Tibo to come out of it. He was having so much fun playing fetch in the snow with John. It was such a fun afternoon. We packed a little picnic lunch and stayed up there for a couple of hours.
John and his company finally got their first Gold Medal in Corporate Challenge. They took the gold in Kickball...yes Kickball...you know where you kick the four-square ball and then run around the bases. You know, the game you played when you were in 3rd grade. Well they hung in there and won all of their games. It was so much fun to watch these big bad adults having a blast playing kick ball.
Lucas has started eating finger foods. This was his first time having a little biter bisquit. He loves them but they make a huge mess. I took this picture and couldn't help but post it. It is just too cute.
