Happy Halloween!

Well Lucas celebrated his first Halloween yesterday. We went to our ward Halloween party. It was so much fun. We had a chili taste test and then had trunk or treating. It was so much fun. Lucas was a little cow...(thanks to the super cute costume his Aunt Catherine sent him). I don't think that Lucas realized that he was having fun...but I did.

We also carved pumkins with one of our friends. I haven't carved a pumkin since high school. We had so much fun. We went with an easy pumkin but it was so much fun anyway.

Lucas Blessing

I always wondered how new mom's felt on the day of thier baby's blessing...Now I know. It is a wonderful feeling. Lucas was blessed on October 14th up in Idaho by John. It was lots of fun. Lucas had so much fun playing with his Aunts and Uncles. We loved it. Here is a picture of him in his blessing outfit.
We had so much fun in Idaho becuase Travis and Jill also had a baby and they blessed him on the same day as Lucas. Lucas and Ethan are going to be best friends, I hope :)

Here are a couple more pictures of Lucas while we were up in Idaho.

Time that Flies!!

Time is something that a new mom is very aware of....or should I say lack of time. I officially went back to work last week and am learning how to run a house, buy groceries, work, keep a husband happy, keep a baby happy and clean, and still find time to sleep. It is defiantely a challenge. I fully understand now how my mom feels. I can only imagine how much time shrinks the more children you have. While I am not complaining...I would like to take a nice bath every now and again.

John is great but let's face it...full time work and full time school ain't the best schedule either. Somehow we are making it work. I feed Lucas while John showers, then John gets Luke ready while I shower and out the door by 7am....(well, planned out the door anyway!). It is crazy how a family must work together in order to make everyones lives a little easier. I couldn't do it by myself and John would go crazy if he didn't have dinner ready when he gets home from class at 11pm.

I have never been more aware of how little time there is in a day until now. But I am learning to deal with it. If the dishes have to stay in the sink another day in order to get some play time in with Luke, than so be it.....If we live out of laundry basket's and the dryer, it's okay. Some things in life are more important than a spotless house and folded laundry.

Welcome to the Turner Tribune!

Well, I guess John and I can finally say that we are "up" with the new things available on the internet. Okay, I know we are a little behind the times, but at least we aren't too far behind :)

Our little family recently got a little bigger. Lucas Roger was added to our family on August 23rd. He is so stinkin' cute that we absolutely love to show him off! He was born at 10am on a Thursday. We entered St. Rose Hospital at noon on Wednesday August 22nd and spent the night waiting for him to decide to enter this world. Then after pushing for 3 1/2 hours he decided that he would have to be forced to come and I was moved into the OR for a C-section. He was 8lbs 11 oz and 19.5 inches long. He looks so much like a Turner.

He is now 6 weeks old and it is just starting to get fun. His cute little personality is really coming out. He has been so wonderful. He sleeps like5-7 hours at a time at night and then wakes to feed and then goes right back to sleep. I have no idea what I did to deserve such a great baby! He is such a mama's boy. Poor John. Lucas will be screaming and John will try everything to get him to calm down and as soon as he hands him to me he stops crying and calms right down :) What can I say, I just have the magic touch. He is growing so fast and getting so long. It is just so much fun watching how he changes every day.

As for John...he is working full time at a new position at his company. He was just promoted this week to be and Engineering Technition/Jr Engineer. He really likes it but he has a lot of pressure as they are trying to get a new machine out next week and it still has a lot of work to do. He is also going to school full time at UNLV trying to get his Engineering degree. Life changed really quickly for John. He got a promotion, had a child, and went back to school all within like 3 days! It is a little stressful at times but things are going pretty well.

And me...well, I am just enjoying being a new mama. I really love it and I am not super excited to be going back to work. Hopefully it won't be forever. I miss work and the people I work with but I think I will miss Lucas while I am there! Things should be pretty exciting when I don't have enough hours in the day to work, clean, cook and be a mama...we'll see how it goes. I'll keep ya posted.
